Nancy Baar’s passion for art began in a high school crafts class in San Jose, Ca.  After running a children’s clothing business for several years she started her formal training in art at College of the Siskiyous in Weed, Ca., then went on to graduate with a degree in art at Southern Oregon University. Nancy had many different interests in art media including painting, fiber art and photography.  She found that printing her photographs on canvas was much like painting on fabric and that became her focus.  Her large format flower prints are bold, beautiful and dynamic.  

I create floral photographs on canvas because the canvas gives a depth and richness to the photo and captures the essence of the flower.  My viewer’s often wonder if they’re seeing an actual photograph or a painting.
